Job Description

Ducray Lenoir Ltd is looking for a Medical Sales Representative to represent our pharmaceutical products across Mauritius. You will detail our products to doctors, clinics and hospitals while building strong commercial relationships with the pharmacies that stock them, covering both the clinical and the trade side of the business.

What you will be doing

  • Call on doctors, clinics and hospitals to present our products and share the scientific and technical information they need
  • Build the same standing with pharmacies, negotiating shelf space and promotional visibility for our range
  • Train pharmacy staff on our products so they can sell them with confidence
  • Plan and report on your weekly visit schedule across your full portfolio
  • Meet the sales forecasts and targets set for your portfolio
  • Contribute to the annual budget per product, customer and supplier
  • Propose selling prices in line with market conditions, subject to your manager’s approval
  • Prepare quotations promptly and work with Sales Support to give us the best chance of securing every order
  • Follow up on customer payments to keep them within agreed limits and submit monthly debtor feedback reports
  • Forecast stock needs and flag slow-moving or near-expiry items before they become a problem
  • Handle customer queries and complaints within the deadlines set by your Head of Department
  • Introduce new products to your accounts and grow the Ducray Lenoir range across your portfolio

  • A Diploma or Degree is preferred, though the right quality of experience can compensate for it
  • 3 to 5 years of sales experience, including some experience selling pharmaceutical products
  • A clean driving licence, since this role is on the road
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, dosage and contraindications
  • Fluent English and French, spoken and written
  • Comfortable with computers and digital reporting tools
  • An analytical, solution-oriented approach to sales performance and market trends
  • Strong negotiation skills and the organisational discipline to manage a full visit schedule alongside your admin
